I am a 1991 graduate of BHS who left “the Brook” within a year of graduation high school because of course we couldn’t wait to get out, right, only to come back first to work, then raise my family. I can’t imagine living anywhere else…well ok, maybe Tampa with my sister, but other than that, absolutely not. I am continuously amazed by the progress Bolingbrook has made since high school. I am proud to raise my kids here!!! I’m a diehard Cubs fan, married an insane Sox fan. We’ve managed to survive the rivalry for 15 years and are raising 3 amazing and unique children, who mostly went to the dark side known as the Chicago White Sox. Seriously, he is my best friend and can’t imagine baseball season without him. . Kaylyn is 16 and is a sophomore at BHS, Brian is 12 and a 7th grader at HHH, and Ashlee is 9 and a 4th grader at BJ Ward. Probably some of the strangest things is seeing teachers I had teaching my kids. It’s just bizarre. I’m also a proud aunt of my sister Autumn’s 2 amazing children, Kaia and Vance. Pretty much everything in my life has to do with children. I have been operating my home child care/preschool since July of ’99. I specialize in ages 2-5. There’s just something amazing about that age as they go from toddlers who are phasing out diapers to intelligent little people with their own ideas and unique personalities. I am blessed to see them progress daily from scribbling on coloring pages (or walls) to writing their own name and starting to read. Over the years I have cared for and taught many of my high school friends’ children. Really, my job is just an extension of our family and I wouldn’t have it any other way. What a blessing! While I was about the farthest person from being athletic growing up, my spare time involves coaching/organizing youth sports in our community. My husband Ed and I have coached several sports, collectively, for 11 years, including tee-ball, coach pitch, softball, volleyball, and bowling. We both have also been board members for the Bolingbrook Tee-ball Association for several years. It is wonderful seeing old friends and their kids up at the tee-ball fields. I’m definitely not the only one to come back and raise their families in “the Brook”. When you don’t see me on some sport court in town, Ed and I are at the bowling alley, where we play on 2 different weekend leagues. I am definitely not a great bowler, or good for that matter, but Saturday date night at the bowling alley is awesome, full of good times and great friends…yet another extension of our family.
