Who remember's the restaurant called "MR.QUICK" on RTE 53?

I remember in the summer time Carole, Shanda, my sister and me would go there cause we had the munchies. I always ordered a Gyro w/extra sauce & tomato, large onion ring and a vanilla shake. They the best beef's in b'brook. It's now called Family Square Restaurant.

I rememebr Mr. Quick being in Bolingbrook and now Family Square, but when I was in school at ISU, there was a Mr. Quick in Bloomington. I walked there while I was on lunch teaching a practicum. I just had to go there to relive my childhood. It was horrible! Too much mustard on my cheeseburger. Oh well.

There was also a Mr. Quick in the Quad Cities. My wife remembers the pork tenderloins very well. She just informed me that she used to work there too.

Whoa....flashback. It may be East Moline, but those flippen farm fields in the background sure make it look pretty close.

Geez, back then if you wanted a burger it was either Mr. Quick or the Union 76 Truckstop on the other side of 55. Oh, right, a burger with the truckers. I never did it, but for the girls that I knew who did ---it NEVER ended well.

Heyy, is that the same cigarette machine (vintage 1970s) on the upper right my girlfriends used to buy from?

I remember we went in that entrance because the people behind the counter didn't really yell/pay attention if you were underage before buying them.

....the fact we did it as fast a possible and kept our back to the counter may have had something to do with it too...

I was way young, but my brothers used to walk me there when we were all kids. I remember them having really good french fries and shakes. Plus, the employees all wore those typical, paper, fast food boat hats.
