Site Rules
We spend a lot of our waking hours here on The Brook Social Network. We love it and hope you do too. The purpose of this network - is for those who grew up in Bolingbrook, Romeoville or surrounding communitees in the 70's, 80's & 90's, provide a place to reconnect with old friends, get reunion information ,exchange ideas, tips, ask questions and, of course, HAVE FUN.
To make this the best possible place ever, we ask that everyone follow a few simple guidelines. We'll do our part to ensure this remains a fun, constructive, and supportive place but we need your help here as well.
New Members
New members must add a profile including full name, high school, year of graduation and middle school. A picture must be added within 48 hours of joining the site. After 48 hours, blank or suspicious profiles will be removed and the member banned.
Profile NO-NO’s
Profiles are not to be set up in a company name or as a name intended to advertise another business.
Profile photos cannot contain nudity(partial or whole), vulgar titles, anything obscene or that can be taken as disrespectful, immoral or illegal.
Cannot contain hyperlinks, or a series of web addresses that promote another business including but not limited to another Social Networking site, pornographic websites and dating/ classified advertisements .
Your profile is a way to let your friends and family get a quick snapshot of your life, including photos, a personal description and your location. If you would like to provide information about a current venture or business opportunity, TheBrook.com asks that you relay it in personal messages (not comments) or in the topic appropriate group/forum. If a member’s profile does not abide by the guidelines set forth here, TheBrook.com has the right to delete the profile and suspend and/or terminate the user from the network indefinitely.
Groups
Groups must follow the same requirements of personal profiles in that they must contain a photo and a descriptor. Groups will be held to the same standards of Personal profiles and if they are deemed irrelevant, inappropriate or show no activity, TheBrook.com has the right to delete the group and if necessary suspend or terminate the member’s personal profile.
Photos
Family picture uploads are limited to 100 for public viewing. Any photos in excess of 100 or business materials must be marked for viewing by your friends only. Pictures taken at BHS/RHS, in/of the Brook or at alumni events have no upload limit.....PLEASE LIMIT YOUR PHOTOS TOO FAMILY SHOTS or BROOK SPONSORED EVENTS ONLY!!!
Spam
Please don't spam. Spam is annoying. What is spam? Spam is posting the same message repeatedly across the network. Spam is writing the same post or comment over and over again. Spam is sending the same message to multiple members. You get the picture.
We take a hard line view on spam and, unfortunately, if you are reported or deemed by us to be a spammer, we'll have to ban you from the site.

Respectfully disagreeing with someone - including your administrators - is a constructive, well-reasoned manner is not only welcomed, but encouraged here on The Brook. We can't get better if we don't have thoughtful, constructive feedback from you. That's why we're here.
On the other hand, if you're here to find an outlet for your anger, frustration, or desire to call us IDIOTS IN ALL CAPS over and over again, this isn't the right place. Drop an administrator a private message to get whatever it is off your chest. We do read every email that comes in and will get the message loud and clear when you are unhappy.
We take threatening, unconstructive, toxic, profane, or generally abusive people very seriously and will ban fast and furiously when we see them. Even if you have a right to be angry or frustrated, yelling at us or other members here isn't helpful and won't get you what you want. Just like in the real world.
